Round 16 Results

Colts – In what was an important game for the boys we were able to get 18 on the park for the start of the game which was an achievement in itself given the injury curse that has hit the club. It was a close tussle in the 1st quarter with both teams having a real crack. In the 2nd quarter our boys were able to come to terms with the heavy conditions and open up a little break at ½ time. In the 2nd half we were able to get our running game going and our big forwards capitalized to run out comfortable 80 point winners. It was good to see big “Izzy” Elisaia kicking 3 along with the dangerous Zac Allen. Better players were Gassy, who backed up and was best in the 2nds also, The Smiths, little Bugga, Bails and Diggers. Seconds – Skye at Skye is never easy at the best of time, unfortunately due to injuries our task was going to be near impossible, we managed to scrap together a side of some sort to take the field. Thanks to Batty’s mate Tim and young Gassy for helping out. Again we were well beaten however we battled hard until the end. Let’s hope we get numbers back this week so we can regroup and have a win at home. Seniors – Again two late changes on Saturday morning due to illness, on the positive side it was great to see Batty back in the seniors after 12 months on the side line with a serious shoulder injury. Our effort and intent couldn’t be questioned on the day, ( even at local level we need to do the right thing during the week, 8 senior players on the track Tuesday night – enough said NOT GOOD ENOUGH) again it just came down to basic fundamental errors at costly times. We were able to take a narrow lead into the last quarter however when it counted Skye had too many tricks and ran out winners by three goals. we now need to rely on results going our way if we are to make finals. Better players for the day were Batty with 3 goals, Harro, Diggers, Sheddars, Kezza and Burgs.
