Round 9 Results

19s Crunch match last week against StKilda City at home, they hit us hard early and skipped away to a lead by the half time mark. Bunna was playing a ripper as were the Smith boys keeping us in touch at 3 quarter time but we were unable to break the oppostion and they ran away comfotable winners. Well done Bunna, Smith boys, Manson and Hanson and Diggers. Looking forward to bentleigh this week. Reserves One of those games again which we thought was going to be hard fought but very winnable. We started well and looked to be in with a shot, Hayden was instrumental across half back stopping many Springvale forward thrusts taking about 12 marks for the game, he had good help through the likes of Chitty and Chase. Our determination and willingness to run cost us throughout the second half and we allowed Springvale too many inside 50s. Pook and Jaiden were trying their best up forward but it was left to late and Springy ran took the game from us. Seniors First Quarter was some of the best footy we have played all year, 5 goals to nothing thanks to Toddy, Carl and Joel playing some great footy. But the 2nd and 3rd quarters were some the worse football, we were only lucky to have the skipper Sheddas and Caffa doing their jobs keeping us with them, Springy had hit the front by the end of the 3rd quarter and we were looking like losing at home. Then the hammers faithful were given a front row seat to the Scoota Show, he banged home 5 goals in the last quarter and proved to be the difference in the end, finishing with 6 for the day, giving hammers a 5 goal win. Better players Scotty, Carl, Toddy and Sheddas. Social Toga party last week, everyone had a great time, we had hot round pies on order to please the happy members. Keep your eyes peeled around the club for upcoming events. If there are any supporters that would like to join the exclusive 250 Jack Jennings supporters group please see Wal Bennett. 5K day coming up please buy tickets to the biggest function of the year. The Whisper Jacks goal. Whisper is, he didn’t mean it. Truth is no one caught it on camera, thankfully.
